In the National Road Relay six stage at Sutton Coldfield on 8 October Highgate Harriers senior men’s team finished in tenth position of the 81 starting clubs, and the women of Highgate finished 15th of 77 starters in the National four stage relay. Despite someone purported to being unwell in the men’s team and missing their fastest clubman Jacob Allen out with injury, Ben Pochee, the manager of the Highgate men's team said, "there will be glory when it comes to the National 12 Stage in the spring!"

On Saturday for the women at Sutton Park someone who had a blazing first leg coming seventh place on that first stage was Nina Griffith in 14:43. On leg 2 Ellen Donald was 24th in 16:32; Karina Thornton held the 24th position with 16:05 and then, as expected another fast run by Hannah Viner with 14:43 who took the team up to 15th. Tonbridge Ac senior women won in 58:26 and Highgate ran 62:03. Remember Highgate women surprised themselves with second place in their National six stage in the spring and could do that again.

Highgate Harriers men were tenth finishing ahead of ‘big hitters’ 11th place Newham & Essex Beagles and 12th place Morpeth. The Highgate senior men’s team in leg stages 1-6 were 18th Seyedtaha Ghafari 17:37; 28th Terry Fawden 18:19; 11th Alex Lepretre 17:16; 12th Pete Chambers 17:49; 11th Flurry Grierson 18:13; 10th Robel Bahelbi in 17:54. Total: 1:47:08. First place went to Aldershot Farnham & District in 1:43:37.

Highgate Harriers men will still go into the Metropolitan League at Woodford on Saturday as favourites of the many clubs and the women should do well but, local clubs Serpentine RC & London Heathside are strong in that Division too.
