Lee Valley in glorious sunshine hosted the Middlesex County Track and Field Championships at the weekend.
Personal best performances for multi-eventer Gabrielle Johnson (U20) in Javelin earned her a silver medal with 25.49 throw. Gabrielle also finished 2nd in long jump with 5m17.
Idriss Mohammed Mariche (U15) collected a bronze in the 80m hurdles and a silver in shot putt. His shot was a personal best of 10.13. His team mate and training partner Arthur Shaw was also setting personal bests - in the 80m hurdles in 13.14 (2nd place) and although not a personal best he landed a gold medal in the high jump with 1m55.
The other title winners came from the track- Joseph Hayes (U20) with a personal best time of 54.48 won the 400m and Arjuna Pflug (U15) led the 3000m from the start and secured the title with a Championship record of 9.17.
Also from the track: Izzy Ions in U17 800 in 2.32 and Alex Mulvihill - a silver medal in 4.18. Massive PBs for U13 boys Jack Cobbold and Alex Pettican who both sliced 7 seconds off their 1500m times on the Saturday (5.17 and 5.13 respectively) and came back the next day and repeated their efforts (a magic 7 seconds for both) with 2.32 and 2.30. Alex also earned a bronze medal in the very competitive 800m. And the final result to report was another personal best performance for Chloe Trunkfield (U15) also in the 800 with 2.32.
