Highgate Harriers women, without several 'Star' athletes missing, which included last year's winner Hannah Viner, who was side lined with a very recent fracture in her foot;  Highgate still did very well to come 6th  of 170 club teams, over the tough Hampstead Heath course. In the first 90 of 261 finisher in 16th place was Yasmin Goater in 24:56; 38th Emily Chong  in 26th;22; 56 Sabina Russell 27:06; and 60th Natasha Cendrowicz 27:32. The winner was Holly Dixon of Cambridge Harriers, who has run on the road for England (23:01). Remarkably, considering, only one of Highgate's top 14 of Highgate's best runners, competed in the men's race, as it was not considered a target race race like the Metropolitan League they do so well in and and yet, they still came  9th of 136 cub teams and. those from Highgate in the first 90 home of 445 finishers were 7th Rob Wilson (38:17) 31st Danny Brewer (41:02); 40th Adam Horne (41:36);  56 Raphael Rossiter 60:(42,26); 84 Dave Jones (60:43},; and 96th Robert Jemkins (60:44.13). and 98th James Porcas 60:44.22.There were to be  London Youth Games races, several of those, before the London cross country but              apparently, the Highgate Harriers London cross-country events organiser Martin Howard, was told on the phoned the evening before, at 8:25 that those events were cancelled because of the bad weather yet on the day it was fairly good weather for the competition!
