The decision has been taken by England Athletics that in two years time, on 1 April 2026, the juniors age group structure will change according to the diagram below. This has been discussed several times over the years and, in common with many changes, has proved controversial. However, it was concluded recently that on balance the pros outweigh the cons. Implementation was delayed until 2026 to allow for additional consultation and to make the change as smooth as possible. To this end, a series of webinars has been arranged for:
- 25 March for athletes and parents
- 26 March for coaches
- 27 March for club committee members
