Young Athletes

We will not be accepting any new members as all sessions are currently full.

Due to covid times, if you turn up to any session you MUST register and book it first - this allows us to have an up to date register of all attendees per club session. You can find the booking site here.

Senior Athletes

​In normal circumstances, there are no limitations on group size. However, you will have to book each session you attend so that we have an up to date register. The limits are based on England Athletics guidelines.

For each group, we will try to keep a session timetable up (below) so you can see what type of sessions are planned in advance.

Existing members

Your membership includes track access on Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as club events and open meets (for example, your membership covers entry into the met league (cross country) and SAL (track, field and middle distance) to name a few). Please visit the membership page for more details on pricing

Prospective Members

We welcome all prospective members, and feel free to come down and trial a session before you decide to purchase the membership - you do not need to contact us before coming unless you have a specific question, just make sure you book a slot. We do limit prospective members slots per club night. To book a trial member slot, please go to this page and select 'New Member Trial - Seniors only'

This session is for 100 / 200 sprinters and they are shorter speed focused, and will generally be high intensity. This session can include hurdles and jumps from time, but not during the pandemic unfortunately.

In the winter we do gradual hill sprints (approximately 300m in distance) and then jog back down.

In the summer we do 200m track sprints (half a track) and jog 200m. Standards: No fixed standards

Parkrun WOOH Anyone and everyone 5k (some hills) Parkrun UK This is not Highgate Harriers specific, but many of us go to do Hampstead Heath Parkrun on Saturday mornings (when they are on of course) which is an absolute hoot. 9am. Not happening until June

 

 

 

Track and field

There are track and field competition opportunities throughout the summer months for all our athletes. In addition to open events and local and regional championships, athletes also compete in the Youth Development League (U20 and U17 athletes), Middlesex Young Athletes League (U17-U11) and the Southern Athletics League, which is open to senior athletes.

Road and cross country

Highgate Harriers has developed a strong tradition in cross country running. Our men, women and young athletes have enjoyed outstanding recent success in the London-based Metropolitan Cross Country League. Our young athletes also compete in the North West London Young Athletes League. There are further local, regional and national competition opportunities.
