Highgate Harriers is committed to providing a positive experience for everyone and we take Safeguarding very seriously. We align with England Athletics Club Standards which includes mandatory good practice in safeguarding.
If you have any safeguarding issue or concern regarding anyone connected with the club, be that a junior athlete, adult athlete, coach or other volunteer, please get in touch with one of our club officers listed below.
We have two safeguarding officers. James Ward is an U12 coach at the track on Thursdays. He holds the NSPCC Child Protection in Sport qualification. Lizzie Bentham is an athlete in the Middle Distance Group and is at the track regularly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Both James and Lizzie have completed the England Athletics online Safeguarding course.
All our coaches are UKA qualified or working towards qualification. This qualification includes holding a current DBS certificate and undertaking safeguarding training. Highgate Harriers has Codes of Conduct for athletes, coaches and parents. Please make sure you adhere to these Codes, which are available on our website.
