Alex Davidson, was the first ‘Over 55’ in the ‘Last Friday in the Month’ 5k road race at Hyde Park organised by Serpentine RC on 31st December. He was 21st of 176 overall in 18:00. He certainly looks to be a force when he is 60 in May.
Last year was a good year for Highgate's distance and cross country runners. Something missed at the time was Chris Wright beating 134 other runners to win the early morning Sri Chinmoy 10k road race in 31:33 at Battersea on the 23rd of October. He is one of the strong Highgate 12-man team that should win the Start Fitness Metropolitan League this season, taking with them the successes of 2021.
