In the 'Highgate Harriers Late Season Open Meeting' in cool conditions at Parliament Hill on 7 September (after the blazing days of sunshine) although it seemed many stayed clear of doing it, there were some notable performances and personal bests, thanks to the officials who turned up. Under 17 runner Luca Spaccatrosi, coached by Andrea Spaccatarosi, ran the fastest 400m of the night from Lane 5 in a time of 56.78, which was a personal best for him. Zac Segal did a PB coming fifth of 16 in the 3000m in 9:49.76. U17 runner James Cameron ran a PB of 10:38.24; and V35 runner Mark Opie did a PB of 11:32.36.

One notable visitor was over 80-year old Alan Long, who runs for Herne Hill Harriers, who ran 15.68 for 100m!  Amon Triba did 2:11.05 in the 800m and behind him were Felix Fletcher with a Season’s Best of 2:29.02 as an M45 runner, three under 15 runners all of whom ran PBs - Oscar Fletcher (2:34.21), James Watts (2:35.37) and Joseph Drinkell (2:47.08) - and Under 11 girl Hattie Fletcher who also ran a PB (3:06.69).

Under 15 Louis Nuthall did a PB in the 100m of 12.87 and Hanyu Peng did a PB of 13.62 in the 100m. Arthur Shaw, the good Under 13-year old athlete, did two events in the evening, a 14.17 for the 100m and 4.74 for the long jump. Over 70 Master Tony Richards was out doing his field events, with a shot win of 11.79, and Gabriella Johnson (U17) did 8.38 in the 3K shot put. Those are some of the highlights.
