Young Athletics League (MYAL) @ Harrow on Sunday 4 June

The second fixture of MYAL (Middlesex Youth Athletics League) was flagged off at The Roger Bannister Sports Ground in Harrow on Sunday 4th June. The sports ground is a tribute to the famous British Athlete Sir Roger Bannister, who was the first man to run an iconic sub-four-minute mile. The sky was cloudless and the sun beaming down with the 9 competing clubs roaring to go. Thanks to all our young athletes, Highgate Harriers secured an overall match position of 5th across all the competing clubs. It was a sunny outing with gutsy track and field performances from all our young athletes. The stand out performance was from our U11 who ranked 3rd across all clubs with twelve U11 athletes joining forces for a commanding performance

Conclusion

Special thanks to all our coaches who could join (Chris, Claire, Sonia, Julie, Rhonda), club support staff & parents cheering the athletes on.

As the 2nd meet has concluded we remain 5th Overall and we need strong representation from all athletes in the next two fixtures on 24th June (Finsbury Park) and 22 July (StoneX). We can break into the Top 3 if we can get more participation

Kudos and congratulations to all our athletes at this meet. Please speak to your coaches for putting your name forward on the upcoming 24th June fixture at Finsbury Park.
