Highgate Harrier, Richard Priestley, was the Manager of the Middlesex Men's team that won the Southern Inter-Counties track and field Championships, which took place at Horspath on the 2nd of July but unfortunately, no Highgate Harriers were in the team that had a resounding victory.

In the Southern League Division 2 meeting, on the 18th of July at Hemel Hempstead, Highgate Harriers combined with Mornington Chasers were 4th of the 5 clubs with 157 points, with Serpentine RC 5th with 91. However there was a notable 'Star' lady from the club competing Hannah Viner, who won the 1500 in 4:47.7 & the 5000 in 17:56.8. Besides that, there is not a strong interest for the Southern League  in  the club, despite Highgate moving from Division 3 last year to 2 this year. However there were some shoots coming through like two Under 17's Elijah Marshall running 12.3 in the 'A' 100 and the 'B' by Hanyu Peng who ran 13.3. Although they were not in the frame it is good to see two sprinters eager to go forward.  Ethan Esteban-Prethero, an Under 20 junior, ran 4:16.6 for 2nd place in the 1500 and in the B, over 45 year old, Donal Moran, was 3rd in 4:41.0 High jumpers always do well in recent times for the club and Charles Button was no exception, winning with 1'85m and the mixed relay team were 2nd. Lauren Longhurst did well with 8'46 long jump and a 2:41.5 800 in 3rd place as well as winning the 400 in 68.0. Sonia Martinez-Roura, a good coach, was 3rd in the hammer and javelin. The 4x400 team came 2nd in 4:55.9.
