Both days at the Middlesex Track and field Championships were bathed in sunshine on the 10th & 11th of May.
Richard Priestley of Highgate, who is also a Team Manager for Middlesex remarked, that he was impressed by Dominic Ogbechie's return to the track, with his semi-final win in the 200m in 21.63 and his final, where he came through for a 3rd place in 21.5. The only time he got near that time was when he ran his best time winning the European, 'Under 18', Junior Championships in in 21.52 in 2018. Charles Button who regularly jumps 1.85 for the senior high jump was 2nd in that event with 1.85, his best was 1'95 in 2018.
Under 17 year old, Ajuna Pflug, who won all his Metropolitan league cross-country races this last season was in good form again with a double victory. In the 1500 he won in 4:09.53 and in the 3000m he also took the Middlesex title again winning in 8:57.79.
Remi Weinbrecht pole vaulted to a personal best of 3.90metres. He also ran 11.7 and 11.5 for the 100m sprint. He is coached by Ex- Olympian Greg Richards.
Izzy Ions who is coached by veteran World class sprinter Nina Anderson did a personal best Under17 800m in 2:16.71, when winning her race. Alex Pettican was 2nd in the Boys Under 15 800m in 2:11`.23. Sonny Allen did 9:53.33 to win the Under 17 women's 3000m and was 2nd in the 1500m in 4:32.04.
