Highgate Harriers men have established themselves as one of the very top club teams at cross country and road running in the UK in the 2024-25 season, where their track & field team, combined with Mornington Chasers, are amongst the bottom clubs in the South, competing in Division 3 North London of the Southern League. However their enjoyment and enthusiasm for competition is just as good!
At Perivale on the 17th of May, for the first round of the Southern League Division 3 North London Ealing Southall & Middx won with 393. 2 Highgate Harriers 360,3 Enfield & Haringey 243, Serpentine 239., Orion & Loughton190, Newham & Essex Beagles 173 and Barnet & District AC 162.
The Southern League Match awards went to Zavier Achiapmpong with a triple jump of 13'28 and Remy Weinbrecht, who competed in several other events did a a long jump of 6'31m.
There were two creditable relay results 4x100 in 50.6 in 4th place and in the 4x400  when Highgate  men came 2nd in 3:47.73.    Highgate field event coach Sonia Martinez -Roura (W50) was out competing herself and obtaining three 2nd places for the Highgate 'A' string- hammer throw 23'7;  javelin 25'13 and an 8'40 shot. Another one who helps organzise the team Alima Diabate did 6.53 shot to come 2nd in the 'B'.
In the week at Watford, Flurry Grierson, who was 3rd in the senior National cross-country this year. ran a 3,000m in the good time of 8:24.34 at the Watford Open Meeting.
