The Highgate Harriers young athletes team kicked off their cross-country season in style at the first North West London League fixture at a sunny Wormwood Scrubs. It was a fantastic day for our junior athletics squad, with all the key ingredients for a successful season on display:
- Strong Turnout: It was great to see a sea of black and white Highgate Harriers vests at the start, especially in the U11s' race, showing the strength of our young athletes programme.
- Team Spirit: Our U11 boys and girls and U15 girls were all still smiling at the end, demonstrating the fantastic spirit within our London-based club.
- Winning Performances: A huge congratulations to our race winners who brought home victories for the club: Luke Tomlinson in the U15 boys' race and Sonny Allen in the U17 women's race.
The only thing missing from the perfect cross-country conditions was any trace of mud, but we're sure that will come later in the season!
The next North West London League fixture is on 1st November at Fryent Park, Kingsbury.
