Jennifer Lovell, the current President of Highgate Harriers, on the 27th of September, was honoured by England Athletics at the London Volunteer Awards for being a 'Dedicated Official' in the London Area. Another Highgate Harrier Errol Peak, was also recognised by receiving the runner-up award in the Coach of the Year category.
Highgate Harriers, who earlier this year were a good second in the National 12 Stage road relay, kept amongst the best road teams in the UK by being 3rd in the National six stage road relay at Sutton Park on the 4th of October. 76 club teams competed!. "All the Highgate men ran consistently and to form, in the blustery conditions" said the Team Manger Rob Wilson.
The winning team was Cambridge & Coleridge in 1hr 36, 2nd were Tonbridge AC 1:37.41; 3rd Highgate in 1:37.43. {Flurry Grierson 16;19; Jacob Allen 16:05. Alex Lepretree 16:34, Pete Chambers 16:32, Roger Poolman 16:50; Charles Cooper16:34.)
