Derek Wood (JD Wood) died at 95, peacefully at home in Enfield his wife Jacqui
related.
Derek ran at the White City over 3 and 6 miles back in the 1950's, and worked his way up to being a Bank Manager in North London and a Lodge Master with the Honourable Artillery Company. He won the M50's title in both the London and New York marathons, in the same year, in the early 1980's.
He was a 'Great' inspiration for his club Barnet & District AC, in which he became President and, helped them to win M50 & M60 National titles.
