Highgate Harrier Sonny Allen (U17), won the National 'Under 17'  Cross Country Championship, at Sedgefield on the  21st of February, being the first person from Highgate Harriers to ever win a National cross country since title since1914.!
She followed that up with another comfortable victory in the English Schools Intermediate National Championships, on the 14th of March, when she won the 12.5k race in 12m 36 sec, ahead of her nearest rival Beth Lewis of  City of York AC who did12:58.
That was quite remarkable, as she had only been 4th in the Cross Challenge at Parliament Hill and  came 3rd the South of England Championships at Beckenham Place Park in January this year. It shows that she came to form at the right time.      On the 21st of March Sonny Allen achieved her ambition to obtain an England Vest and subsequently went on to win the England International (SIAB 'middle' race)  with  her third major title of the season, at Bangor, Wales. She led England to team victory over Ireland & Wales. Allen's winning time was 12.49 with Beth Lewis, again 2nd but, also running for England. Her time was 13.00.
