At Milton Keynes on Sunday the 29th of March, Highgate Harriers women finished a good sixth place in the Southern six stage road relay, with a team of mostly regular performers. 39 club teams started and Highgate Harriers comprised of Kaitlin Johnson, Hannah Viner; Karima Harris, Molly Bryan, Leon Delvendal and Ashley Scott-Wilson.
The full team time was 2:15.59, the winning team being Belgrave Harriers in 2:09.56.
The Men's team was 6th in the 12 Stage relay in 4:17.32, the winners Cambridge & Coleridge AC won in 4:12.1. 50 teams started and it was impressive that Highgate Harriers had the first 'B' team in 14th place in 4:31.29. Highgate's fastest long stage was Flurry Grierson in 26:15 and the fastest short leg for the club was was by Felix Kent, not long out of the junior ranks; in a time of 15:23. '
I still feel Highgate could make the first six in the National 12 stage relay Sutton Park on the 11th of April and I am sure their very capable Manager Rob Wilson. may think the same!.
