Errol Peak (58) is a listed coach to Sonny Allen, the Middlesex 1500 & 3000 Championship best performer (under 18) and a National Junior (Under 17) cross country Champion, plus two 'Under 15' 'prospects, Jack Cobbold & Alex Pettican.
As a 16 year old Errol, was a 1:54 800m man, who actually trained with one of the best middle distance Schoolboys in the UK at the time but, having no coach and a little disillusioned he decided to quit at the time but still gained a lot of knowledge about coaching, through the years and did join Lincoln but, in the last few years has been with Highgate Harriers, showing a great deal of skill as a coach, as he advises Sonny Allen, who has improved radically over the last year or so. "A couple of years ago she ran a race with a 61 second first lap, before running a last lap in 75 seconds odd but she never ever makes the same mistake again ever.' He added she is bright and joy to train"
He joked "I give her torturous training' but Sonny Allen came back with "In training he really helps me so I am not going too hard!"
Errol likes to try his hand at a little racing and this year ran just inside 30 seconds for 200 and has run 64 as an older athlete over 400 but obviously Highgate have benefited with his training advice.
