Felix Kent of Highgate Harriers, ran well at Leeds BMC 1500 on the 1st of June with a time of 4:03.59, following his personal best on May 2nd, when he did 4:03.12.;only slightly faster.
In the second Middlesex Young Athletes League of the season, at Harrow on the 31st of May. Highgate's youngsters (from Under (12 to Under 16), improved on their League match position of 5th of 10 clubs to 4th with 46 match points. Shaftesbury Barnet still lead with 67 match pints to Highgate's 46 points. At the meeting at the there were several good performances as usual and, amongst those were Fiona Phillips who was 2nd in the 'A; 1200m race in 4.9.04; Charlotte Knipe won the B 1400 in 4:15,73; Beatrice Nellenbach won the Under 12 high jump with 1'25; and the long jump with 3'90 and won the vortex with 36.40. Owen Lewis won the boys under 12' 1200, out of 13 competitors with 3:55.43 and Jack Cobbold won the 'B' 1500 in the Under 16 race in 4:32.72, out of 10 runners.
