Highgate Harriers’ Anna Koshevaya made a promising debut in Birmingham last weekend. The London Schools athlete competed over 400m in a competitive Senior Girls field.
Anna claimed her spot on the team with an impressive six-second improvement over one lap, having only started specific 400m training this year. Her personal best from the Middlesex Champs in May, 57.56, already ranks her in the top-40 in the UK for her age.
Unfortunately, a nagging hamstring niggle put paid to full training over the last three weeks so the goal for the champs was to compete and not aggravate the hamstring further.
Anna produced a strong run in the heats, ensuring a 12th place finish overall. Much more to come from this talented youngster!
