At Parliament Hill Track on the 9th of September for the last track and field Open meeting of the season, in which none of of the senior cross country & road runners of the club were present but, there was still some depth in the track and field performances at the meeting and quite a few new names competing. Of course, one not so new was Tony Richards, the' 'Over 75' thrower, who launched the discus out to 30'01m. 14 year old Rufus Head threw 27'44 for the other end of the age group!
To do well inside 5 minutes for 1500 is a reasonable club time. The following did that.
In Race 5 Brodie Denholm ran 4min 05.10, Wiremu Nicoll did 4:10.75, Jonathan Boardman did 4:18.32,
Under 16 year old's Robin Court did 4:35.25 and Jack Cobbold 4:35.96. Two slightly faster were older runners 18 year old Oscar Morrell 4:21.56 and Under 20 runner, Rory O' Corbaidh 4:26.52, Kian Zare, an Under 16 boy, ran a personal best 1500 of 4:41.97.
In the 3000 Jade Peel did a Personal best of 10:09;35 and Katherina Haslauer did 11:11.20 for a PB. Peta Zigel ran 10:33.31 for 3000.
Chris Ebulu did a PB for the long jump of 5'86. Lewis Jackson ran a PB of 11.84 in the 100m and Oscar Vajda did PB in the high jump of 1'30. Under 16 long jumper William Chevetall did a PB for that of 5'10. Under 18 Asher Moman ran a 400 in 58.0. Maxwell Seemapillai did the 100m in 12.46, as an Under 20 athlete, and it was a PB tor him.
