It has been more than 15 years since Highgate's women looked like being Champions of the Metropolitan League, when they regularly were, but on Saturday the 10th of October, in the first Start Fitness Met League of the season they won at Claybury with 446 points. In 2nd place were Victoria Park & Tower Hamlets, the overall winners last season, with 438, London Heathside on 3rd with 389 polnts.
The Highgate high placers were 7 Kaitlyn Johnson 31.07.92, 8 Leoni Devendahl (U20) 31:27.89;10 Jade Flash 31:42.02; 16 Emily Chom 32:33.55; 17Kaitlyn Hewitt 32:50.49.;20 Anna Cooke 32:00.42; and 24 Yasmin Goater 33:32.70; 28th Eleanor Macintosh 34:24.95.The first Over 50 was Louis Farherty in 36:15.83.
Something that has not happened in the last dozen years was to have two winners from Highgate Harriers. Owen Lewis won the Under 12 boys race and Florence Philips won the Under 12 girls race. In the Under 16 youths race Kounours Prastalo won in 38;70 with Alexander Shoesmith of Shaftesbury Barnet 2nd.
